(From left to right) John Pettigrew (1864); John Johnston (1862, later a member of the Legislative Assembly); John Murphy was the first mayor of Ipswich, elected to office on 12 April 1860, and again as mayor from 1865 until 1867; Francis North (1863 and 1864); Henry Caleb Williams (1868, the same year he served as a Member of Parliament); John Swain Willey (1881-1882); Peter Brown ( 1880, 1887-1888, 1890, and 1900); William Thomas Deacon (1896-1897 and 1908); Robert Tallon (1875, 1883, 1895 and 1900); Jacob Spresser (1892); Samuel Shenton (1871-1872, and 1889); Henry E.
