Dorothybelle Cake Shop at 91 Brisbane Street, Ipswich was opposite the Palais Royal Hotel and next door to the National Bank of Australasia.
It was previously known as Bunce's Cake Shop in the 1940s. On 29 August 1949 K. F. Cuthbert, a pastrycook, commenced trading as Dorothybelle. They baked and sold wedding, Christmas and birthday cakes. In 1950 a cafe was added.
In 1954 Dorothybelle and The Viola Cake Shop were managed jointly by Messrs. Cuthbert and Whitehead.
