T. F. Hall, Chemist

Major T. F. Hall served as a pharmaceutical chemist in the A.I.F. during World War I. Prior to enlistment, Hall had owned and operated The City Pharmacy in Brisbane Street. On his return to civilian life, in March 1919 Hall became manager of London Pharmacy. Six years later, Hall opened his own business in Ipswich simply known as T. F. Hall, Chemist.

As well as prescription drugs and medicine, Hall's pharmacy also sold fountain pens, Xylonite ware, safety razors, cigarette holders and cigarette cases, clocks, hair brushes, toiletries, decanters, and face puffs (some made of real beaver). 

When the business was sold in 1944, it was located seven doors from the Post Office at 96 Brisbane Street in O'Sullivan's building, near the intersection of Bell Street. It was sold to Frank V. Kunze and remained a chemist shop for years to come. 

The Hall family lived in Whitehill Road, East Ipswich.
