Description
DescriptionFrom the Preface:
This History has been compiled under the auspices of the Ipswich City Council, to commemorate the Jubilee of Municipal Government in the City of Ipswich, Queensland. It deals somewhat fully with the work of the Council in the early days, and carries the record on to the present time. In addition to civic affairs, reference is made to the interesting story of pioneer settlement, and to the industrial and social progress of Ipswich and the surrounding districts during the past fifty years. It has been well said that "the best prophet of the future is the past." If this record of past achievements should stimulate the community to even great deeds in the future it will not have been written in vain.Physical Copy Available at Ipswich LibrariesJubilee History of Ipswich: A record of municipal, industrial and social progress
