DescriptionThis heritage trail covers the central business district of Ipswich, from Brisbane Street to Gordon, Limestone, and Nicholas Streets.
Sites include d'Arcy Doyle Place, the former Bank of Australasia, the former School of Arts (now Ipswich Art Gallery), Post Office, former London Pharmacy building, and the site of the Cribb & Foote department store, on the corner of Brisbane and Bell Streets, the Action Realty Building, site of the former Queens Arms Hotel, Whiteheads Photographic studio, and the former Queensland National Bank. In Bell Street, buildings featured include the Walkers Buildings, and the Caledonian Hotel. Also included on the trail are Wharf Street, Devil's Gully (Marsden Parade), Suva House, St Stephen's Presbyterian Church and Sabbath Hall, the former Ipswich and West Moreton Building Society, on the corner of Limestone and East Streets, the former Market Site (site of the second court house), Mary Tregear Hostel, Civic Centre, the Old Pump Yard, RSL Memorial Hall, the former Technical College, Ipswich City Uniting Church, St Paul's Anglican Church, and the Ipswich Mall.
