Description

DescriptionHerbert Hoare married Anastasia (Anna Stina?) Johnson in 1901. Anna was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Maria) Johnson (nee Luder). He had an Auctioneer business on the corner of Limestone and East Streets. The business was started around 1912 and was there until the late 1940s. In 1915, he ran unsuccessfully for the Ipswich City Council West Ward. During the 1930s the family home was ‘Almaden’ in Park Street Ipswich. Herbert was a prolific writer to newspapers of the time.
