DescriptionHerbert Marshall Foote bought the Rockdale Farm of 275 acres, in 1912. He named the farm because of the rocky hills and the fertile dales. It was also infested with prickly pear at the time. Herbert milked 60 head of Jersey cows by hand and reared 16-18 calves each year. He also reared pigs for selling and grew corn pumpkins and oats for hay. The Foote family owned the farm from 1912 until 1961.
