For over a century they contributed to Ipswich's thriving manufacturing industry, producing everything from pipes and bridge girders to coal washing plants and railway wagons. Scott advertised that he could produce anything "from a needle to an anchor".

Although the name has disappeared 'Scotts of Ipswich' remains in the memories of many residents.About the PresenterJudith Nissen is a freelance professional historian with wide-ranging interests in Queensland history. Her work over three decades has encompassed published histories, heritage assessments, hisotries of buildings and engineering works as well as biographical research.
