Sensory History - telling stories through the senses

There is a well known saying "A Picture tells a thousand words".  When you look at photographs on the Picture Ipswich website, imagine that you were there, or that you took the photograph.

Describe what you can: 

• See
• Smell
• Touch
• Taste
• Hear

Describe how the scene you are viewing makes you feel:

• Happy
• Excited
• Calm
• Sad
• Angry
• Surprised
• Confused

The Activity Sheet below has been taken to events and members of the public have added their thoughts on sensory history for some of the images. When you click on one of the images, you will see on the left hand side of the screen 'Recollections'. Under this section are the headings and what people felt about what they were viewing in the photograph.
