Ipswich Hospital Museum

Ipswich Hospital Museum opened in 2010. It was incorporated to collect and conserve the history and artifacts of the Ipswich Hospital. Established by community contributions in 1856, the hospital was a charitable institution for the poor. It continues to serve the region from the original location on Denmark Hill.

The Museum’s collections of objects, images, documents, plans and stories have been gathered from staff, community members, hospital archives, and the research of volunteers.

With the support of West Moreton Health, the Ipswich Hospital Foundation, volunteers and friends, our collection is housed at the Hospital, with a selection of items on public display originally in the Jubilee Building and since early 2026, the museum has relocated to Cribb House, off Chelmsford Avenue, Ipswich.
