St Paul's Young Men's Club
Description
Dates1911History
The Community Gallery on the corner of Limestone Street and D'Arcy Doyle Place, Ipswich has had many uses.
Built in 1911 as a hall for St. Paul's Young Men’s Society, it was also used as a soldiers' recreation hall. The building was then purchased by the Ipswich City Council in 1939. It was used as the City Works Department headquarters and served as the Ipswich Municipal Library until 1978. It would then become the Ipswich Art Gallery.
