The name George Brockwell Gill is synonymous with Ipswich architecture and buildings; his rich legacy is evident throughout the city. For 55 years, from 1887 to 1943, Brockwell Gill designed or supervised the construction of some of the city’s most iconic buildings. His outstanding architectural career was acknowledged by his peers with his election as an Associate of the Queensland Institute of Architects in 1904 and as a Fellow by 1913.
