DescriptionImage in 'Book of Views' published by Macfarlane & Sons to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. Governor Blackall was the second Governor of Queensland from 1868 to 1871. The memorial was originally a drinking fountain and built in 1879. The architect was F.D.G. Stanley. It was moved to the corner of Outridge Street and Chelmsford Avenue, Denmark Hill, Ipswich, in 1927 when the traffic became too busy around Nicholas and Brisbane Streets. The church building commenced construction in 1855 on Brisbane Street. The Reverend John Moseley was the rector at that time. The building was completed in 1859. This lithograph is part of a series that was believed to be commissioned by Macfarlanes from original photographs and processed overseas.
