AddBy: Kathryn Rodgers31st Jan 2023 3:53AMPeter William Sparkes as Co-ordinator's Assistant moved much food from the Civic Centre to Ipswich City Council buildings where events were being catered for. Peter arranged furniture excellently for many Council and Comunity Groups and Entertainment Events. These included The Wiggles, Cambrian Choir and Seniors Concerts. Peter met some famous people like Heather Ford. He saw Aled Jones. Gough Witlam presented him with a Certificate for reliable long service.
He has generously spent some of his wages on politely taking me out to dine.We have been to the Ekka, daytrips to Sandgate and been on many bush walks. Peter resigned and retired on the 30th January 2023 for a well earned rest.
The Ipswich Civic Centre honoured Peter with a special Retirement Lunch on 30th January 2023.Many important Ipswich City Council Staff and his Colleages spoke very highly of Peter's fine character, hard work, bright smile and willingness to help. I could see that he was very popular there. He was given very generous gifts which he will treasure. I was so glad he was honoured so well.

He kept Queens Park and many other great Parks in great order. In 1990 he was transfered to the Ipswich Civic Centre.
