Scotts of Ipswich had originated c.1910 with a foundry in Wharf Street. Vickers Ruwoldt purchased Scotts in 1973. In early 1974 flooding submerged both the workshop at West Ipswich and the foundry in Wharf Street. This provided the impetus to re-locate the foundry to Karrabin. By September 1974 it was in operation and by January 1986 the workshop had also moved to Karrabin. New ownership soon followed. The new owners were ANI-Ruwoldt, and subsequently Bradken Resources, and then in 2021 White Industries.
