Phister Family
The Pfisterer/Phister family arrived in Moreton Bay in 1855, just thirteen years after the area was opened for free settlement. Jakob and his brother Gottlieb were born in Steinheim an der Murr (Steinheim on the river Murr) in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wurtemburg. Jakob on 25 February 1835 and Gottlieb on 18 April 1838. They emigrated to Australia aboard the ship the 'Grasbrook' from Hamburg.
Gottlieb died in November 1929, the funeral moved from the residence of Mrs. A. Wilks who lived in Queen Street, Newtown, Ipswich.
Jakob (Jacob) married Mary Jane Morrison in Ipswich on 16 February 1860. Jane was born c.1839 and she died on 14 February 1913. Jakob (Jacob) who was a labourer by trade, died suddenly at his home at Three-Mile Creek on the 19th August 1877. They had ten children:
