Louisa Cornish Lavers migrated to Australia with her family, living first in Mudgee, New South Wales and then in Drayton, Queensland. She married Thomas William Hoey and had ten children, Arthur and Beatrice both died in infancy.
Nine of the children were born in the family home in Mortimer Street, Ipswich. The youngest, Cyril was born in their new home in Quarry Street.
Louisa died at the age of eighty-eight at her home, Nukana, Montague Road in Indooroopilly.
