Emily Hustwick
Description
GenderFemaleLife Story
Emily was born in 1865 and lived with her family in Shildon, County Durham in England. Her parents were John Hustwick and Martha (nee Atkinson).
The family made the decision to send Emily who was only twenty-one years old, and her sister Martha who was twenty-six to Australia. The family would have been hopeful that the change of climate would cure Emily who was suffering from Tuberculosis (T.B.) Sadly, this didn’t happen and just eight months after her arrival in Australia she died in Ipswich on 4 December 1886. Emily was buried in the Wesleyan section of the Ipswich General Cemetery.
