Description
DescriptionA California bungalow style house designed by architect Wil Haenke, and built in 1924 for Mr H. L. Reilly. Haenke’s brother Martin, also an architect, worked in San Francisco and is said to have sent home magazines reporting on American architectural developments, leading Wil Haenke to introduce the style to Ipswich. Between 1982 and 1990, it was used as the principal’s residence by Ipswich Girl’s Grammar School. Possibly the residence of the manager of the Bank of New South Wales in 1959.References (offline)Ipswich Heritage Study 1991 Inventory, East Ipswich Citations
