DescriptionWorkers butchering cattle at the Bremer River Abattoir which opened in 1958. They used the Dinmore railway siding for the unloading of cattle. In the late 1970s, following the Clean Waters Act 1973, the Bremer River and Dinmore Abattoirs were required to clean up their practices, as there had been sightings of lumps of fat, and cattle tails and ears floating in the Bremer River. The abattoir specialised in beef and processed 1500 carcases per week.
