DescriptionRoderick McLeod was Mayor of Ipswich in 1898. He was an alderman from 1891-1901. Born at Everton, Rothesay, Scotland in 1847, Roderick came out to Queensland with his father in 1857 where they engaged in various careers of station life. Coming to Ipswich Roderick McLeod married Miss Ann Jane Watson and they had two sons and two daughters. He went into business with Watson Bros. Butchering business for a few years, later dissolving the partnership and going into business on his own. He passed away in 1916.
