Description

DescriptionAt the time of the Study this area was part of Redbank. Shaft for power supplies on far left. Administration buildings are on the left in the centre and ventilation shaft and fan house are on the right. The Westfalen Colliery was started by August Kathage at Thagoona (Westfalen No. 1). From 1944 the No. 2 Mine was located at Dinmore. In 1974 the mine was flooded. Work commenced at the Westfalen Mine No. 3, Collingwood Park, in 1967 and continued until 1987.
