The worst flooding experienced in Ipswich on record at the time, occurred in February 1893 as three cyclones crossed the coast of South East Queensland and moved inland. The Bremer River flooded three times on the 3rd, 13th and 17th of February. Seven men drowned through the flooding of the Eclipse Colliery at North Ipswich.
