Louisa Sirois (nee Linning)

Wilhelmine Louisa Katherine Zerner (known as Louisa) was the daughter of Frederick Zerner and Catherine Elizabeth nee Duhs.

Louisa had graduated from the Lady Bowen Lying In Hospital on Wickham Terrace in Brisbane in 1907. After graduating she returned to the local area to nurse the sick in their own home. When the Marburg Private Hospital was constructed in 1912, she worked for her friend Doctor Sirois, who she married in September 1919.

The hospital included a large medical laboratory and surgical room with the latest scientific implements. The Marburg Private Hospital was a great success and well ahead of its time in many respects, including the use of gas lighting throughout the building and the installation of Marburg's second telephone in the local area.

Louisa died on 29 December 1971.
