DescriptionThis is a house built during the mid-century period (1945-1965) in Ipswich. During the post-war years, Ipswich experienced a building boom, after little development during the Depression and War years. By the late 1950s, large estates were planned for Redbank, Ebbw Vale and Riverview. Many home owners preferred the eastern suburbs, which were closer to the railway. They had lower Council rates because there was no sewerage, making the area more affordable.
