Dive into the past and examine some of the early survey plans and maps that were created over Ipswich and the surrounding area from 1840. The historical value of this material will be highlighted, providing an important snapshot of Ipswich as it once was. For example, an 1842 survey plan will show the footprints of buildings and the location of wharves and tracks at Limestone [Ipswich].About the PresenterKaye started as a cartographic cadet with the Department of Mapping and Surveying in 1978. After finishing the required Cartography course, Kaye completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1988 majoring in history. From 1998 she worked as an archivist with the John Oxley Library and also part time with the Department of Natural Resources and Mines.
