DescriptionIn March 1998, Deborah attended the Under 18/16/14 Championships in Adelaide in track and field and competed in U16 and U18 shot put, discus, and hammer.
She qualified for the Open and Under 20 Discus and Hammer Australian Championships in Melbourne but could not attend.
In October 1997, she held a Schools Queensland Record for 14 years Discus.
In December 1997, she competed at the Hobart All Schools event and placed first in Australia for U15 Discus, second in Australia for U15 Shot Put, third in Australia for U19 Discus, and fifth in Australia for U17 Hammer.
In February 1998, she held a Queensland Track and Field Championships Record for U16 Discus, a Zone Record for U15 Shot Put and a Zone Record for U15 Discus. She competed in the Queensland Track and Field Championships coming in first place for U16 Hammer and third place in Open Hammer.
Deborah was awarded $160 as part of the 1997-1998 Ipswich City Council Sporting Bursary.
Deborah would go on to participate in the 1999 World Youth Championships in Athletics for Discus.
Deborah won three silver medals in the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
In the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Deborah won a gold medal.
She won a bronze medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
