History
In 1918, the State Government Insurance Office did a detailed survey of Ipswich Central.
The Block Maps are a rich resource of information on the buildings and businesses of Ipswich during the Inter-War period. Details in the map include:
- Dimensions of all main buildings
- Location of windows and doors in main buildings
- Building features, such as lantern lights
- Location and type of out buildings
- Names of businesses

- A colour code to indicate building material
