The Ipswich Motor Bus Company Limited launched in December 1911.

The registered office of the company was G. W. Allen's rooms in Bell Street. F. E. Barbat was the first chairman of directors. Other directors were: H. S. Cribb, W. Bryan, J. P. Bottomley, and P. W. Cameron. They were all local businessmen. However in June 1913 shareholders voted to voluntarily wind up the company. Rough roads were blamed for severe wear and tear on the buses which led to the company failure. High petrol prices were also cited as a contributing factor to operating expenses. Following the company's demise, 2 buses and the bus garage were sold to Cribb & Foote.
