DescriptionPeople in the photograph, from right, George and Edna Alder (owners), traveller, Kevin Maker (Butter Factory), Marie Bell, John Williams, Kevin McDougall, ? Williams, Norm Collins, Ted Hookway, Len Malone. Not in the photo Mr. ? Feeler, Bill Miers of Harrisville and D. Moore. Situated three doors up from the corner of Ellenborough and Brisbane Streets. Owned by George Alder and sold to Alfred and Catherine Barnes (Barns)in 1955, who had the business until 1975. Their sons, Ian and Noel also worked in the shop. Prior to that the family had owned the shop on the corner of Burnett and Herbert Streets where they made aerated waters.
