Description

DescriptionSabas Drapery opened in 1937 in Nicholas Street, next to the Whitehouses Cafe and two doors down from the Ipswich Raiwlay Station. After the revitalisation of the Mall in the 1990s, Sabas was the only building remaining.

John Scurrah started his 'high class' tailoring business in 1906, after working for Messrs W.J. Overell in Brisbane and for four years as head cutter for Cribb & Foote. Commencing initially with two assistants, by 1910 he was employing 22 assistants in this workshop.Additional Information Model created by members of the Ipswich Mini Crafters.
