Coronation Hotel

At the corner of Brisbane and Tiger Streets, West Ipswich this pub has been through some name changes. A hotel stood on this site from at least 1864. This was the Bull's Head.

In 1911 the hotel became known as The Coronation Hotel. 

On 17 November 1914 the West End Swimming Club was established there and regularly met on the premises for many years. Bicycle road races often started and finished at the pub. The Newtown Wheelers and other clubs raced in these events to Rosewood and other locations. 

Over the years the hotel had many licensees and was a constant presence in the community until 2019 when it closed its doors. The venue was then revived in 2021 as The Witch Hotel run by Ron Oatley and Ray Smith, now selling craft beers.
