Ipswich Little Theatre
Description
Organisation TypeTheater GroupsHistory
Formally established on 31 July 1946, the Ipswich Little Theatre Society remains a significant part of the cultural landscape of Ipswich. From the outset, the aims of the Society were 'to promote the development and appreciation of the cultural arts and, if desired, to affiliate and work in conjunction with similar societies.' Their first production was The Blue Goose, and the initial play reading was held on 16 August 1947. Following in October was the second production - Fresh Fields- which marked the first performance by the much loved Jean Pratt.
