DescriptionBorn in 1849 in Edmonton England, Henry arrived in Moreton Bay on the "Persia" in 1856 with his parents Thomas and Sarah Wyman, his five siblings at the time, and 2 of Thomas' nephews. His immediate family settled in Ipswich and his cousins in Tenterfield. One further sibling, Eliza Elizabeth was born in Ipswich. Henry became a prominent architect, designing many civic and residential buildings in Ipswich. He was an alderman of the Ipswich City Council and Mayor in 1894. He was secretary of the Ipswich Fire Brigade Board, secretary of the North Ipswich Cricket reserve, a member of the Western Star Lodge G.U.O.O.F. and a prominent member of the Methodist Church community. In 1880 Henry married Lucy Ann Pocock, they had 5 daughters and 1 son and lived at "Edmonton” on the corner of Herbert and Syntax Streets, near many extended family members.
