Brassall Earthmovers was established circa 1974-1975 by Terrence Butler, and partner Desmond Peters. The business endured in the local area until sold to Bachmann's Plant Hire in 1999.

Brassall Earthmovers were contracted to Ipswich City Council to move earth, cover trash and spread fill at various local garbage dumps. The business also participated in the demolition of Reids after the fire that destroyed the store in 1985. They also worked on rock wall pitching during construction of Wivenhoe Dam in 1984, and laboured at the Split Yard Creek Dam during its construction from 1977-1980.
