Walloon Saloon
Patrick Sharry became the first licensee of the Walloon Hotel in 1877. It is believed that the building had previously been a boarding house that had been re-located from a floodprone site at Karrabin.
In September 1897 the Walloon Hotel was destroyed by fire. At the time the hotel was owned by John Tobin. Early in 1898 John Farrelly, architect, called tenders for the construction of a new hotel to include a bar, parlour, coffee room, and six bedrooms. The architect again called tenders in 1902 for additions to the relatively new hotel.
In 2022 a decision has been made to demolish the old pub and construct a new hotel on the site. At this time there were few original features remaining of the old pub's building. The reconstruction is to include a new drive through bottle shop.
