Recreation Footwear Ltd.

A footwear factory opened in Rosewood on 20 June 1946 but had operations suspended after only one week due to power restrictions. The factory was supposedly established in Rosewood due to female staff shortages in Brisbane. It was owned by N.A.R.M. and was to produce uppers for rubber soled shoes.

The factory commenced with 12 electric machines and 10 female employees to seam and bind felt cut for slippers. The factory is often referred to as "the slipper factory".

The factory was located opposite the Rosewood railway station. It would later (1948) relocate to the Rosewood Showgrounds. It was closed by 1962.
