Almo's
Description
Business TypeRetailHistory
Almo's shoe shop opened in the main street of Rosewood in 1956. Albert and Mary Mogensen were the original owners of Almo's. The name Almo's is derived from Albert Mogensen's name.
In the beginning Almo's sold shoes and school supplies. Albert was a qualified boot maker and repairer. He also repaired bikes. In the 1950s there was a photographic studio at the back of the property where the Mogensens and their staff developed and colourised photographs. Today the store also stocks clothing, and has been in business 66 years.
Mary and Albert's son, Will has run the store since about 1980.
