Forsyth Family
Samuel Forsyth
Samuel was the eldest child of John and Catherine (nee McNutt) Forsyth/e. He was born in Donegal, Ireland. Samuel married Mary Toppins on 3 April 1849 in Conway, Donegal, Ireland. Mary was born c. 1829 in Ireland. Samuel and Mary had eight children:
- Eliza Jane was born on 24 March 1830
- John was born on 30 May 1852
- William was born on 6 August 1854
- Samuel was born on 30 June 1857
- Richard was born on 3 July 1859
- Robert was born on 28 October 1861
- James was born on 7 October 1864
- Francis was born on 21 August 1867
Samuel and Mary arrived in Moreton Bay on 20 September 1875 on board 'Renfrewshire'.
Samuel died on 23 November 1902 at Flinders, Fassifern and Mary died on 6 March 1914 in Harrisville.
James Forsyth
James was the third child of John and Catherine (nee Mc Nutt) Forsyth/e. He was born c.1835 in Ardidnganny, Donegal, Ireland. James came to Australia on the ‘Rajasthan’ wife his wife Catherine nee McCleary and their son John who was 1 year old in They arrived in Moreton Bay on 4 November 1862 and came to Ipswich in 1863. Their second son William was born on the ship on the way to Australia. They first settled at Greenmount on the Darling Downs but then made their way to the Flinders area. Their eleven children went to School at Peak Crossing and Harrisville from 1871 onwards. The family lived at Lot 181 Faulkners Quarry Road, Peak Crossing. James was a farmer and his religion was Presbyterian.
James died on 21 June 1911 at Harrisville.
Catherine Forsyth (nee McLeary)
Catherine was born c.1838 in Glenoughty, Donegal in Ireland. She married James Forsyth on 27 October 1859 in Ireland. Catherine and James children were:
- John was born on 18 August 1860
- William was born on 8 September 1862
- Margaret Jane was born on 6 July 1864
- Robert Henry was born in 1866
- Catherine was born on 1 March 1868
- Samuel was born on 27 November 1869
- James was born on 9 June 1872
- Francis was born on 27 June 1874 (she died in 1875)
- Francis was born on 27 October 1876
- Alexander Stevenson was born on 14 March 1881
Catherine died on 5 July 1914 in Harrisville.
Robert Henry Forsyth
Robert Henry was the fourth child of John and Catherine (nee McNutt) Forsyth/e. He was born c.1840 in Ardigany, Donegal in Ireland. Robert Henry arrived in Moreton Bay in 160 on board the 'Hannah Moore'. He settled in the Flinders Area then moved to Mt Sibley. Robert Henry married Mary Ann Cowan on 18 July 1871 and they had nine children:

- Katherine was born on 21 September 1873
- John Henry was born on 11 February 1875
- Elizabeth Edith was born on 29 September 1876
- Euphemia was born on 7 June 1879
- Jessie Lillian was born on 20 December 1880
- Annie May was born on 11 December 1882
- William Donald was born on 19 May 1886
- Francis Stuart was born on 21 September 1889
Robert Henry died on 18 April 1911 and was buried in the Greenmount Cemetery.
William Forsyth
William was the fifth child of John and Catherine (nee McNutt) Forsyth/e. He was born in 1843 in Letterkenny, Ireland. William arrived in Moreton Bay on 20 December 1863 on board the 'Norman Morrion'. He married Martha Jane Given in Ipswich on 14 May 1879. Martha was born on 13 February 1852 in Newtown, Limavady, Ireland. William and Martha had seven children:
- George Given was born on 12 June 1880
- William John was born on 15 May 1882
- Norman Alexander was born on 3 December 1883
- Alfred Ernest was born on 15 May 1884
- Herbert Victor was born on 13 September 1888
- James Maurice was born on 1 October 1892
- Robert Henry Francis was born on 2 February 1897
Martha died on 19 January 1919 and was buried in the Toogoolawah Cemetery. William died on 14 December 1923 and was buried in the Moore Cemetery.
Francis Forsyth
Francis was the youngest child of John and Catherine (nee McNutt) Forsyth/e. He was born in 1847 in Donegal, Ireland. He arrived in Moreton Bay on 20 December 1863 on board the 'Norman Morrion'. Francis died on 19 June 1928 at the Diamantina Hospital in Brisbane. Francis was a Labourer and his religion was Presbyterian.
