Description[Days Halfway House on the roof sign] Michael Charles Maher, an accountant, was appointed Postmaster on 11 November 1940. He also had the agency for Plume (petrol), Mobil Oil, Kodak and the Courier Mail. He relinquished the Post Office agency in April 1952. The Maher family were in Marburg District in 1933 when Joyce Maher was enrolled as a pupil of Marburg State School. Her sister Ita was enrolled in 1936.
