This shop at 164 Brisbane Street was the Ipswich Electric Supply Company Limited created in 1917. It would provide electricity to Ipswich and environs. The Ipswich Electricity Supply Company ceased operations in September 1941. In the 1950s the business was called The City Electric Light Company. Later would be the South East Queensland Electricity Board (SEQEB).
