Life Story
Thomas Shaw was born in Derbyshire in England and his wife Betsy nee Richards, was born in Nottingham. After their marriage they emigrated to Australia aboard 'Sabrina' and arriving in Moreton Bay in January 1856.
Their daughter Eliza Ann was born in January 1858 while Thomas was working as an engine driver and living at Six Mile Creek near Ipswich. The family moved to Toowoomba. Betsy died on 15 June 1896 and was buried at the Drayton Cemetery and Thomas died in 1897 in Toowoomba.
A daughter Betsy's birth was registered on 25 July 1861 and a son Thomas on 7 February 1864.
