Newlands Family
David Newlands married his first wife Friederike Wilhlemine Astiene in November 1890. She was born in 1869 in Brandenburg, Germany and came to Australian in 1871, Lammershagen to Keppel Bay. She died in the Ipswich Hospital on 11 March 1899, leaving David with four young children to raise: Ellen Augusta born in 1891, Annie Elizabeth born in 1892, Mary Helena born in 1896, and William Robert Charles born in 1898.
In January 1901 David married Friederike's sister, Auguste/Augusta Wilhelmine Muller who was born in 1883 in Minden, Queensland. David and Auguste had nine children including: Fredericka Wilhelmine Anstine born in 1902, Jane Gustine born in 1904, Janet May born in 1907, Isabella Margaret born in 1909, George David Alexander born in 1912, Beryl Pearl born in 1914, Dorothy Edna born in 1918, Muriel Sarah Jane born in 1920.
They lived on Station Road on the corner of Ivory Street, opposite Booval Fair Shopping Centre. He owned the land where the Booval Stars Football Club established their grounds which is now part of the land occupied by Booval Fair.
Auguste died on 3 October 1950 at Booval and David died on 4 June 1961.
