DescriptionLouisa and George Zerner. George Ludwig Zerner was the son of Frederick Zerner and was born 13 July 1885 at Walloon and died 2 July 1948 in Gympie. He married Jane Catherine Heinemann on 1 October 1912. This is an example of the early German homestead. It has an unusual roof design covered with shingles. A veranda circles the main dwelling and the front and rear doorways are opposite, creating a draught and helping to cool the home. A paling fence enclosed the garden and homestead.
