DescriptionText and audio of 19 minute interview where the Councillor talks of visiting people prior to the flood to advise them of the possibility of a flood, and that many didn't believe it would happen. She talks about how severely impacted her division was by the flood, in particular the many homes in Karalee/Barellan Point and Moore's Pocket that were fully inundated. She comments on her time at the Karalee Evacuation Centre and the wonderful community members who gave of their time feeding and caring for people, in particular the several doctors, nurses and police who live in the area and were stranded there too. She talks of the great work of the community groups at Tivoli, Moore's Pocket and the Karalee Community Association who have provided much needed support for the families in their areas, letting them know that someone cared. . The floods occurred in January and peaked on Wednesday 12 January. More detailed information can be found in the local newspapers and media.
