DescriptionText and audio of 13 minute interview where David describes as having been through the 1974 flood he prepared for the worst and packed a bag in preparation to stay at the radio station should he be cut off from home. He ended up staying on a couch at the station for eight days. He talks of the calls they received from their Toowoomba listeners and shortly after the calls from people in Grantham and Murphy's Creek. From this time the station eased out the music and became primarily an information station - relaying information and messages of items that were needed and people who had items to give (on-air and behind the scenes). He talks of six, and later eight staff, spending up to 24 hours a day on-air and helping to answer the thousands of calls that came in. The floods occurred in January and peaked on Wednesday 12 January. More detailed information can be found in the local newspapers and media.
