DescriptionUnidentified children in front of the jailhouse at the corner of Omar and Keogh Streets, West Ipswich. The building faced Keogh Street. The date is unknown but would be prior to 1939(?). The 'Jubilee History of Ipswich' published in 1910, identified this building as the 'Old Court House,{Courthouse} Little Ipswich'. The jailhouse name was changed from Little to West Ipswich Police Station in 1941/1942. Opened 1887 and closed 9 May 1908, it reopened 16 August 1919 and closed 30 June 1961.
