Ipswich North State School
Ipswich North State School opened in 1867 with an initial enrollment of 86 boys and 56 girls, who were taught in separate rooms. In 1876, male and female students were further separated with the school breaking into two schools: North Ipswich Boys School and North Ipswich Girls & Infants School.
North Ipswich Girls & Infants School closed in 1934, with students combining with the boys' school the following year at the renamed Ipswich North State School.
Samuel Ewing was the first head teacher, with his wife Sarah and Miss Mary Ransome working as assistant teachers.
