DescriptionLate Victorian square plan, single story house on low concrete stumps with corrugated a iron pyramid short ridge roof, and a veranda on three sides with a separate convex roof. Included in the Ipswich Heritage Study 1991 Inventory, the house is listed as being built in 1896. It is believed to be the eighth or ninth house to be built in Goodna for E.S. Thomas, local owner of the first bakehouse and shop in Goodna. His wife was Marion, nee French. E.S. Thomas was a local Councillor on the then Moreton Shire Council, a Justice of the Peace and a pastor to the Goodna Congregational Church. The name Penhelyg comes from the village in Wales from which E.S. Thomas migrated.References (offline)Ipswich Heritage Study, 1992 (University of Queensland)
