DescriptionOn the corner of Murphy and Roderick Streets, the house was believed to have been built in the early 1860s for James Kirby Swan. In 1875, the house was bought by William Hancock, a well known building contractor in Ipswich who was involved in the building of Rockton, Booval House. He also built and operated the first lime-kiln on Limestone Hill. References (offline)See ‘Ipswich City Council 'Heritage Study, 1992'
